Phil Mickelson left the LIV Golf Invitational Series for the first time. Centurion Club studies have had poor results as they have tried

to play for the first time in more than four months. Thus, too, the media, often relentless

in its criticism of the Saudi-backed circuit has chosen to take its sharp focus.

Challenges in his game are easily explained, as he set his clubs long after his break was announced in the game.

Criticism of his action is just something he will have to put up with, something he knows very well that will come about as a result

of a dispute over LIV Golf. It would be a divisive issue without Saudi support; throw in the Public Investment Fund,

the violation of the rights of the Saudi people, and the idea that he - and other stakeholders - are determined to fight for the country by taking money.

The questions at his Wednesday news conference were straightforward and endless.
