This weekend, Britain will celebrate the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II

sitting on the throne over the weekend of Platinum Jubilee, a national bank holiday that runs from Thursday,

June 2 to Sunday, June 5th. The 70th anniversary of the Queen took place on February 6,

the day she ascended the throne at the age of 25 following the death of her father King George VI.

Various festivals in the U.K. it has already happened, leading to a national holiday this weekend.

Jubilee will see a number of public events, including Trooping the Color,

Queen Elizabeth II's birthday show; Buckingham Palace concert featuring

dancers such as Queen and Diana Ross; and the closing ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee
