Since its inception in 2017, Star Trek: Discovery has endured criticism from certain Trek fandom channels who claim that everything in the series
series is governed by the so-called “resurrection” agenda. In fact, many fans simply call the current franchise situation "Woke Trek." And now,
some of the Discovery stars are responding to criticism
Over the weekend in Washington, D.C.'s AwesomeCon, as reported by Heavy,
Star Trek: Discovery members Anthony Rapp and Wilson Cruz asked a question about criticism that the franchise "rose so much."
Cruz, who plays the role of Dr. Hugh Culber in the series, replied, “I think you know, Star Trek has always been an indication of the times.
And I don't think any of us here would deny that. ” Cruz spoke of the social and political divisions in the United States,
as well as the need to look beyond the surface and be aware of each other's personalities. But he also made it clear that
he did not see anything wrong with being "resurrected". "I'm very tired of the negative connotation of the word 'wake up,'" Cruz said.
