Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will headline a new Monday golf competition starting in January 2024.

Created in partnership with the PGA Tour, TGL aims to attract a younger audience to golf through technology and custom-built arenas.

The tournament will feature six teams of three PGA Tour players each and will be televised live on Monday night in prime time.

The high-tech concept will allow players to shoot on a virtual screen before moving into a "state-of-the-art short game complex"

in the center of the stadium, according to a press release. Each shot will be played during a two-hour window in an effort to make golf

more attractive to greenside spectators. The inaugural season will feature 15 games, followed by playoffs and a championship game.

"We all know what it's like to be in a football stadium or a basketball arena where you can watch every play, every minute

of the action that's happening right in front of you said 15-time major champion Woods.
